Search your workspace

Find and preview documents, decisions, features, personas, signals, and competitors.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Use Search when you know a topic but not where its source material or recorded product context lives. It searches documents, decisions, features, personas, research signals, and competitors in your workspace. Results reflect your read access, including access to document folders.

Search and narrow results

  1. Open Search and enter at least two characters in Search workspace.... Results update as you type.
  2. Select All or a type filter such as Documents, Decisions, Features, Personas, or Signals. A type filter appears only when that type has a result. Competitors can appear under All, but have no separate filter.
  3. Select a result to preview it. Use Back to results to return to the list, or the preview's Open in … button to go to its section. Competitor results show Preview not available in Search.

Document results can show a short matching excerpt and their folder path. The document preview highlights matching query words; decision and signal previews highlight matches in supported fields. Results you have opened are marked in the list. You can share a search by copying its /search?q=... URL; returning to Search in the same browser session can restore your recent query.

Search shows up to 20 results for a query. If you do not see what you expected, add a distinctive word or phrase to narrow the results.

From the search box or a result row, use the Up and Down arrows to move through results and Enter to preview one. Enter from the search box previews the first result if none is selected. Press Escape to close a preview; press it again to clear the query.

Search for exact text or a decision

Put a phrase in quotation marks, for example "customer onboarding", when those words need to appear together. Search recognizes up to three quoted phrases of at most 200 characters each. Enter an exact decision ID such as D-123 to look up that decision. You can combine a phrase or ID with other keywords. Search may also find related material beyond simple word matches, so open a result to check its context.

A decision marked Suggested is awaiting review and is not a confirmed decision. Open its preview to inspect and review it. See Decisions for the review process.

Jump straight to a document

Press Command+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows to open Jump to a document…. Before you type two characters, it shows recently opened documents. Enter at least two characters to search documents, then select one to open it. Matching text in a document title is highlighted in this menu.

The warning icon beside a document means a possible duplicate exists or a newer version may have replaced it. Check which document is current before using its contents. See Documents for organization and editing.

When you cannot find something

  • If a type filter says there are no matches, choose All or try different keywords.
  • If a document is missing, check whether you have access to its folder. Search cannot show documents outside your read access.
  • If a preview cannot load an item, use Try again where offered or open the result in its section. A suggested decision may also have been reviewed since the results loaded.
  • Word-based matches may still appear when related-topic matching is unavailable. Try a distinctive word from the title or source text.
