Explore market and competitor context
Review positioning, revenue, subscriptions, deals, and competitors in Brief.
Open Market in the Brief app to review your positioning, billing and pipeline data, and tracked competitors. Its tabs are Positioning, Revenue, Subscriptions, Deals, and Competitors.
Review positioning
In Positioning, review or edit Tagline, Value Proposition, Category, Target Audience, ICP Description, Anti-Personas, Differentiators, Alternatives, Proof Points, Messaging Pillars, Voice Guidelines, Pricing Rationale, and Objection Responses as they apply to your business. Changes save automatically; you can also select Save.
When a field has a Suggested change, review it beside the current value. You can accept it, reject it, or adjust the suggested value before applying it. A rejected suggestion leaves the current field unchanged.
Review revenue, subscriptions, and deals
Revenue shows recurring revenue totals calculated from subscription facts. Each billing source and currency is shown separately, with a definition, data freshness, time window, included subscriptions, and exclusions for each total. Brief does not combine currencies. If subscription rows exist but no total can be calculated, check the explanation for missing or invalid price, currency, or billing interval.
In Subscriptions, use Search subscriptions... or the Status filter, then inspect customer, plan, price, quantity, status, start, renewal, and cancellation details. The totals in Revenue use these subscription facts. If there are no subscription rows, select Connect a Source to add a billing source or Have Brief Find Subscriptions when offered.
In Deals, use Search deals... or Stage to narrow the pipeline by stage. Open a deal for its details. If the list is empty, Connect a Source takes you to integrations; Have Brief Find Deals appears when a scan can be started. Deal data depends on a readable connected CRM source.
Competitors
Open Competitors to review tracked companies, their domains, latest moves, and website scan status. Use Search competitors... to find a company. New identifies competitors that were unseen in the workspace when the list opened. Select a competitor to inspect its profile and any available pricing, product, changelog, or research details.
To track a company yourself, select Add Competitor, enter its Domain (for example, linear.app), and select Add Competitor in the dialog. Brief starts a website scan. If Domain is required appears, enter a domain and submit again.
If the domain is already tracked, use its existing profile. A workspace can add up to 10 competitors per hour; if the limit is reached, try again later.
Deleting a competitor requires write access. To stop tracking a company, open its profile and select Delete, or use Actions → Delete in the competitor list. Confirm with Delete in the Delete Competitor dialog. This cannot be undone.
If a website scan fails or points to the wrong site, open the competitor, select Edit website, enter the correct Website, and select Save website. Use a domain such as linear.app. Changing a website requires write access and is limited to once per hour for that competitor. It refreshes the profile while keeping its name, history, and links; you must select tracked products again on the new website. Use Re-scan to retry without changing the domain. Re-scanning requires write access. Ordinary re-scans are limited to once per hour for each competitor; if you just ran one, try again later. Re-scan can also be unavailable while a scan or retry is running. A failed site load may be retried automatically.
Ask the Competitor Agent
From the Competitor Agent detail, select Talk to to open a private chat thread for your account. Ask what changed at a competitor or what a move means for your business. When no saved market research is available, the first read runs only if your workspace has sufficient credits; you can still open the thread if that read cannot start.
