Notifications
Choose your email briefings and proactive notices, and find their results in Brief.
Open Settings → Notifications to choose which updates you receive. These switches are personal to your account:
- Open Settings in the web app, then select Notifications.
- Switch on the updates you want. The page saves each change automatically and shows Saving changes... while it is working.
- If Failed to update notification preferences. Please try again. or Failed to update proactive brief setting. Please try again. appears, try the switch again. A failed change returns to its previous value.
- Daily Pulse sends an email summary of recent activity across connected sources. It is off by default. When the email has content, select Discuss with Brief to continue in chat.
- Weekly Strategic Brief sends the weekly analysis when a valid brief is available. It is on by default.
- Proactive Brief allows unprompted notices about decisions that may need reconfirming and possible contradictions with existing decisions. It is off by default. Brief caps these interruptions at two per week. You can turn it off here or ask Brief in chat to stop flagging a topic.
Proactive Brief can also flag a surge in customer research related to an important decision. When reviewable items have accumulated, Brief may invite you to review them in chat or send a reminder in Teams or Slack where available. Accept the invitation to work through the items, choose “later” to defer the invitation for about a week without dismissing the items, or decline to turn off Proactive Brief until you turn it back on in Settings → Notifications. A chat invitation does not count toward the two-per-week interruption limit; a Teams or Slack reminder does. A switch being on does not mean every candidate will reach you.
The Daily Pulse may also appear in a workspace Slack notification channel if the workspace has connected Slack and configured that channel. This channel delivery does not depend on any one person's email switch.
To receive the Daily Pulse in Slack, a workspace administrator needs to connect Slack, choose a notification channel in the Slack connection settings, and ensure the Brief bot can post there. Your personal Daily Pulse switch controls your email, not the workspace channel. See Slack integration for connection steps.
A briefing can omit a section when there is no usable evidence from a source. The Weekly Brief email contains the brief and a Discuss with Brief link that opens chat with its context. On the Agents page, select Weekly Brief Agent to see when it last produced output and whether its latest attempt succeeded. Possible contradictions remain available for review in Brief. When several qualify for an email, Brief can group them into one message with a Review with Brief link for each listed item. The email points you to the items rather than deciding them for you. Turning on a preference does not guarantee a message when there is no qualifying content or the delivery cannot be made.
If an update is missing
Check that its switch is on. For the Weekly Brief, open Agents → Weekly Brief Agent, then compare the last output with the latest attempt. A deferred or failed refresh can leave the earlier brief available. For the Daily Pulse, check that your workspace has recent connected activity; for Slack delivery, check the configured notification channel and bot access. A proactive reminder requires an eligible event and is limited to two interruptions per week. Brief may group possible contradictions into one email, and not every candidate sends a message.
See Brief Agents for agent runs and output.
