Use Figma links in Chat

Connect Figma, then paste a design link into Chat for Brief to read.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Connect your own Figma account when you want to ask Brief about a design in Chat. Paste a link to a file, frame, or layer; Brief reads that design from Figma when you ask. It can use pages, frame names, prototype flows, component descriptions, comments, and version notes when available.

Figma is a personal connection. Each person who wants Brief to read a Figma link with their access must connect their own account. Brief requests read access to file content, metadata, comments, and version history.

Connect Figma

  1. Open Integrations in Brief and select Connect a Tool….
  2. Choose Figma, then select Done to close the catalog. Figma appears as a row in Integrations.
  3. Select Connect on the Figma row and authorize Brief using your Figma account.
  4. On the Figma is connected page, select Done to finish setup.

Ask about a design

  1. In Figma, copy a link to the file, frame, or layer you want to discuss. A frame or layer link can look like https://www.figma.com/design/…?node-id=1-23.
  2. Paste that link into Brief Chat with your question. For example: “Summarize the flow in this frame” or “What changed in the latest version of this file?”
  3. Ask a follow-up in the same conversation to refer to that design again. If you have shared several Figma links in the conversation, say which design you mean or paste its link again.

The connected Figma account must have access to the linked design. Brief reads the particular link you supply; it does not provide a file picker or browse your Figma projects. Figma content is for Chat questions about links, not background agent context.

  • Brief asks for a link: Paste a Figma file, frame, or layer link. A team or project link does not identify a specific design for Brief to read.
  • The design is unreachable: Make sure your connected Figma account can open it. If needed, share the design with that account or paste a different accessible link.
  • The frame or layer no longer exists: Copy a current link from Figma. You can also link the whole file.
  • Figma is temporarily rate-limiting requests: Try again shortly.
  • Setup does not finish after authorization: Select Done again on the Figma setup page. If Brief cannot be reached, the page asks you to retry.

To remove your personal connection, expand Figma in Integrations and select Disconnect on its Personal Connection row. See Integrations for other tools.
