Answering in Slack
Ask why in the channel. Brief answers in the thread with the decision, what changed, and what is approved today.
What Brief is
asked to do
One message from the Product Manager carries four instructions. Brief follows each one.
Product Manager
Check the original decision records and supporting sources.
Brief reads the decision log and the documents each one cites.
Distinguish proposed from approved changes.
Every decision carries a status, so a proposal never reads as policy.
Answer in three short bullets with source links.
The reply fits the thread. Each claim links to the record behind it.
Do not change any records.
Read only. Saving a decision always takes a preview you confirm.

Why 12: D-041 (Jan 22, 2026) set QBR exports to default to 12 peer benchmarks. The Q1 customer sample wanted the full peer set, and 8+industry-filter was rejected because industry tagging didn't exist yet.
Decision D-041
What changed: Industry tagging shipped via the approved CDP on Aug 28, removing that technical blocker, and the Aug 20 customer advisory board requested 8 relevant benchmarks + an industry filter.
