Why we started Brief
I’ve spent my career in product. Stephan and I met at Yammer, where I was Director of Product through the Microsoft acquisition. After that I led product, engineering, and design at Fond, then became CPO at Skedulo.
Once, in an emergency, I took over an engineering team spread from San Francisco to Australia. We doubled output with two-thirds of the staff. The only thing that changed: every engineer understood why we were building what we built.
At ProductBridge I saw the same pattern across more than 20 startups. Fast teams could ship anything. They couldn’t decide what to ship.
In 2025 I started coding again for the first time in a decade. The agent’s work was technically correct and strategically wrong. Then I fed it our decisions, and it built exactly what I would have built.
That’s why we built Brief: the context that made one engineering team twice as productive, available to every team and every agent in the product org.
